Friends since their high school days in Cupertino, 9 South offers a unique acoustic journey through the heart of rock music spanning from the ’60s to the 2000s. The band consists of Walter Saleme (vocals, guitar, ukulele, trumpet, etc) and Tom Johnson (guitar, vocals, ukulele, percussion).

9 South is the perfect band for your private party or small event. We create a lively atmosphere, but without the space and volume requirements of a full rock band with their amp stacks and drum set.

We’re not just another classic rock band. While we pay homage to legends like Tom Petty and The Eagles, our diverse repertoire leans heavily towards the iconic sounds of the 80s and 90s. Expect covers from artists like The Cure, The Smiths, Joe Jackson, R.E.M., Foo Fighters, The Avett Brothers, and The Counting Crows.
